ARCOS Data Released After Year-long Legal Battle

The DEA ARCOS data has been released to the public after a year-long legal battle. The Washington Post as well as HD Media Company sued the Department of Justice, DEA and the MDL Defendants (opioid manufacturers, distributors and chain pharmacies) to release the information to the public.

The case was argued in front of Judge Polster in Cleveland, Ohio where he is currently presiding over the National Prescription Opiate Litigation, federal MDL.

While the district court allowed the ARCOS information to remain under seal and protective order, the 6th circuit reversed and remanded this decision making the ARCOS data available to the public.
