A California hospital is facing a possible class action lawsuit after more than 1,800 patients were filmed without permission using motion-sensitive cameras. A former patient filed the lawsuit against Sharp HealthCare in San Diego and one of its hospitals.
The cameras were installed on anesthesia carts used in operating rooms at Grossmont Hospital’s Women’s Health Center. The company put the cameras on the carts to help determine if an employee was stealing drugs. The woman who filed the lawsuit is seeking $5 million in damages.
