Dems call for labor secretary to resign over Epstein case

A group of 15 Democratic lawmakers is calling for an investigation into Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta ‘s conduct following an investigation into a 2007 plea deal he struck with an alleged serial sex offender when he was the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida.

Congress’s top Democrats, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, called for his resignation, as did The Miami Herald, which uncovered the details of the plea deal, which was initially kept secret from victims under the agreement between Mr. Acosta and one of Mr. Epstein’s lawyers, Jay Lefkowitz.
