The family of the 14-year-old boy shot and killed by a Tempe police officer in February is demanding $5 million from the city and the police department.
Tempe Police Officer Joseph Jaen shot and killed Antonio Arce after the 14-year-old ran from the officer while clutching what law enforcement said appeared to be a gun. The weapon turned out to be a non-lethal airsoft gun.
Now, the Arce family plans to sue.
Their lawyer, Danny Ortega, has asked for $5 million to settle the case.
