Illinois Expands State Opioid Lawsuit

Illinois Attorney General Raoul expanded the state lawsuit Monday to include members of the Sackler family.

Raoul claims that the Sackler Family were behind much of Purdue’s marketing efforts and funneled billions of dollars into their personal accounts. He is asking the court to force them to give up revenue to pay for their conduct.

Purdue could soon be filling for bankruptcy protection from the filings as almost every state in the nation has them as defendants in their own opioid lawsuits.

In the new motion, Raoul asks the court to prohibit the Purdue and Sackler’s conduct to prevent the same events from occurring in the future.
