Interface Former CEO Fires Back with $10M Lawsuit

One month after he was fired from Interface Inc., former CEO Jay Gould has filed a lawsuit for wrongful termination. Gould filed the civil action on Feb. 14 with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta division.

He is suing Interface for $10 million – a sum which he accused Interface of depriving him of “in compensation and has directly disparaged his reputation causing further economic damages and mental anguish.” Gould’s career at Interface embarked in January 2015 when he was named executive vice president and chief operating officer.

He was promoted to CEO in March 2017 and held the post until Jan. 17, when Gould was terminated “after an investigation concluded that he engaged in personal behavior that violated company policy and core values.”
