Iowa pays $3 million in sexual harassment and claims

Iowa agreed Monday to pay nearly $3 million to settle three sexual harassment or discrimination claims, the second straight month that state officials have OK’d multi-million-dollar workplace misconduct settlements.

Two settlements approved Monday by the Iowa Appeal Board involve allegations of sexual misconduct in Iowa prisons, while a third case is related to a sexual discrimination claim at Iowa State University.

A month ago, the board approved $4.15 million in payments to settle claims from two women who said they were repeatedly sexually harassed by David Jamison when he was Iowa Finance Authority director.
