Jury awards $26.5M against truckers in fatal road rage episode

A federal jury in Oregon has awarded nearly $27 million in damages against two trucking companies and their drivers who were involved in a cat-and-mouse road rage episode on Highway 20 that killed a 30-year-old motorist in 2016.

Sara Alison, of Idaho, was driving eastbound on the highway, just east of Burns, on June 5, 2016, when she crashed head-on with a flat-bed semi driven by James Decou, who was westbound trying to pass another truck that alternately sped up faster and then slowed down to keep Decou from getting around him.
