Lawyer pleads guilty to sexually assaulting client

A Massachusetts lawyer admitted Tuesday to sexually assaulting a client who went to his office to discuss her upcoming divorce.

James J. Martin, 41, of Amherst, pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14. Hampden Superior Court Judge Constance Sweeney sentenced him to four years in jail and four years’ probation. He will also be required to complete sex offender treatment and undergo a mental health evaluation, according to court records.
