Mother Who Abandoned Newborn on Porch Gets Probation

LOCK HAVEN — The 19-year-old mother who left her newborn son wrapped in a towel in a paper bag on the back porch of a Clinton County home in March has been placed on probation for five years.

Cassandra Rochelle Stitzer of the Loganton area was sentenced Monday by Clinton County Judge Craig P. Miller in a proceeding conducted by ZOOM.

The sentence, which included a $100 fine, was part of a plea agreement that had the approval of the county Department of Children and Youth Services.
