N.J. tax scofflaws coughed up at least $200M during amnesty

New Jersey’s delinquent taxpayers coughed up at least $200 million during the state’s months-long tax amnesty program that wrapped up this week, treasury officials said Thursday.

The state received more than 50,000 inquiries from people looking to settle up with the state and potentially have their penalties waived and interest payment cut in half.
