Edward Jones Faces a Discrimination Lawsuit Over Its Asset Transfer Program

A pair of advisors is suing Edward Jones, alleging “rampant” discrimination in its advisor ranks and describing a system of delegating assets to junior advisors that they say disadvantages women and minority team members.

The plaintiffs include one current Edward Jones advisor, Katie Dixon, and Jaime Gaona, who left the firm in January 2022 after more than eight years.

The plaintiffs, who could not immediately be reached for comment, are seeking certification to make their lawsuit a class action, and are asking the court to compel Edward Jones to enact reforms to address the firm’s allegedly discriminatory practices. They are hoping to obtain compensatory and other damages under the Equal Pay Act and Civil Rights Act.
