NY parents sentenced to 1 month for paying $125K to rig daughter’s ACT and SAT exams

Manhattan millionaires Gregory and Marcia Abbott were sentenced to a month in prison each for paying big bucks to rig their daughter’s college entrance exams.

The beverage packaging boss and his wife admitted paying a total of $125,000 for the inflated scores as part of the college admissions bribery scandal. The scheme lifted the daughter’s ACT score from a 23 to a 35 out of 36 and won her a perfect 800 math score on the SAT, according to an FBI affidavit.

In letters to the judge filed Tuesday, they said their daughter had no knowledge of their scheme and that the stress of their marital separation also made them easy targets for admitted scam mastermind William “Rick” Singer.
