A New Jersey Motorcyclist Receives a $1.4 Million Settlement

A Secaucus motorcyclist who was severely injured in a Bergen County crash in 2018 has received $1.4 million after settling a lawsuit against the driver of the SUV that struck him, the New Jersey Law Journal reported.

Jeremiah Klepper, 38, sued the driver of a 2015 Mercedes Benz SUV, Anne Carney, and the owner of the SUV in 2020 for the injuries suffered in the crash that occurred in Franklin Lakes, a town in Bergen County. The case was dismissed on Dec. 21.

Carney was driving west on Franklin Avenue and Klepper, on a 2019 Ducati motorcycle, was going north on Summit Avenue in Sept. 2, 2018, when Carney went through a red light, the 6-page lawsuit filed in Hudson County Superior Court stated.
