Man Sentenced to Life With the Possibility of Parole in Racially Motivated Road Rage Murder

A Massachusetts man found guilty of shouting a racial insult at a man of color before running him over with a truck and killing him in Belmont three years ago was sentenced Wednesday.

Dean Kapsalis, 56, of Hudson, was convicted in May on charges of second-degree murder, violation of constitutional rights causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and leaving the scene after causing injury in connection with the January 2021 death of 34-year-old Henry Tapia.

Kapsalis was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole after 15 years.
