Texas school board gets settlement of $42M from Travelers

The Amarillo, Texas, Independent School District board of trustees approved the settlement of its lawsuit against the Travelers Lloyds Insurance Company.

On May 28, 2013 Amarillo experienced a historic hail storm causing $500 million in damage.

However, in 2015 the district filed a lawsuit against Travelers Lloyds Insurance Company saying the company wanted to unfairly assess damage, and other violations of the Texas insurance code.

On Thursday, years of conflict came to an end as the board of trustees approved the settlement.
