Ex-WWE Writer Drops a Discrimination Lawsuit Against the Company

A former writer for WWE, who sued earlier this year because of alleged racial discrimination and workplace hostility, has dropped her lawsuit against the sports-entertainment company.

Nearly six months after plaintiff Britney Abrahams filed her complaint against Stamford-based WWE, an attorney for her filed last Friday a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice of the entirety of her lawsuit. The filing also noted that the claims that Abrahams had dropped in August against the lawsuit’s named defendants — WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon, his daughter and former WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon, another executive and four WWE writers — would “be now deemed dismissed with prejudice.” A dismissal with prejudice means that Abrahams cannot file another lawsuit based on the same claims against WWE.

“Dismissal is proper under this section because no party has yet answered the complaint in this matter,” said the filing, which was submitted in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
