What First Amendment rights do students have?

Students wearing “Make America Great Again” attire and carrying a President Donald Trump banner at Perry High School on Friday say school administrators told them to put away the gear.

A spokesman for the Chandler Unified School District says the students were told to put away the flag but never were told to change attire.

Despite two versions of events, one thing that is clear: Students do not “shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.”
