Man Charged with Federal Gun Charges for Possessing Two Weapons Found Not Guilty

Christopher C. Syregelas, of the Law Offices of Christopher C. Syregelas, represented a defendant that was charged with federal gun charges for possessing two weapons, and previously being convicted of a felony. After the FBI and Chicago Police Department executed a search warrant at the Defendant’s girlfriend’s home, the officers found the defendant present in the home, they recovered two handguns and proof of residency for the defendant. After a 3 day jury trial, Defense counsel was able to convince the jury that there was reasonable doubt that the Defendant possessed those weapons. The Defendant was facing 10 years in Federal Prison.
