21 Democratic-led States and DC Sue USDA Over SNAP Cuts

Democratic officials in 21 states and Washington, D.C., sued the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Wednesday, alleging that it is “arbitrarily” excluding many lawful permanent residents from receiving food assistance benefits.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Eugene, Ore., says the USDA is unlawfully implementing guidance for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility under the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) Act.
