$28.5M Settlement Approved in Suit Alleging a Secret Arrangement Between Two PA Healthcare Providers Not to Poach Each Other’s Employees

A federal judge has given final approval to the $28.5 million settlement of a class action suit that alleged there was a secret agreement between Geisinger entities and the former Evangelical Community Hospital near Lewisburg not to poach either other’s employees.
U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann on Monday also approved $9.5 million (33.3 percent of the settlement) in legal fees to Berger Montague, the law firm that represented the class of 11,228 central Pennsylvania healthcare workers.
