$4M Settlement Reached Over Former Missouri Police Officer’s Illegal Cell Phone Searches for Nude Images

A $4 million settlement has resolved lawsuits against the City of Florissant and a former officer who unlawfully searched the cell phones of women for nude photos during traffic stops.
In March, former Florissant officer Julian Alcala was sentenced to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to 20 counts of deprivation of rights under color of law, namely the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure.
