A Man Has Been Sentenced to Nearly 10 Years in Prison for Assaulting Deputies

A Bridgeton man will spend nearly ten years in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting a law enforcement officer and larceny.
District Attorney Scott Thomas announced that Buddy Sedell, 28, was sentenced as a habitual felon and he was ordered to serve a maximum prison sentence of 9 years and 9 months.
Craven County Sheriff’s Deputies were trying to serve Sedell with outstanding warrants and witnesses said he walked into his home to avoid the deputies, saying he wasn’t going to jail; when they placed a flashlight in the door opening Thomas said Sedell picked up a two-foot metal bar and slammed the door on the deputies’ hands.
