American Airlines Sues Kiwi Alleging That the Site Sells the Airline’s Tickets Despite Agreement Termination

American Airlines Inc. filed a lawsuit against Kiwi Inc. and Kiwi.com for the unauthorized sale of American Airlines tickets.

Kiwi was an American Airlines agent with the authority to sell American tickets between 2018-2020 but American discontinued that agreement after it says Kiwi violated the agreement terms.

“Kiwi repeatedly violated the agreed terms of its agency agreement through similar abusive ticketing practices, and American terminated Kiwi’s authority to issue tickets on American’s behalf,” the Kiwi lawsuit says. “Since then, completely lacking authority but undeterred, Kiwi has continued, on an ongoing basis up through the present, to hold itself out as an American agent, to sell tickets for American flights, attempting to bind American to contracts of carriage even though Kiwi has no authority to do so.”
