AT&T to Pay $177M in Data Breach Settlement

Millions of customers impacted by massive AT&T privacy breaches are now eligible to file claims related to a $177 million settlement.
Kroll Settlement Administration announced last week a settlement has been proposed related to two cyber attacks of AT&T. The attacks, announced in March and July 2024, allegedly include information from AT&T’s cellular customers as well as landline customers who interacted with those cellular numbers. In the second incident, some AT&T data was uploaded to a third-party cloud platform hosted by Snowflake.
The first breach exposed data of 7.6 million current and 65.4 million former account holders, CNET reported. The second exposed information on 109 million customers.
