Buc-ee’s Settles Lawsuit with Duckees Drive-Thru Over Copyright and Trademark Dispute

Texas-based Buc-ee’s reached a settlement agreement with Kansas City-owned Duckees Drive Thru to end a trademark and copyright infringement lawsuit it filed in November.

Buc-ee’s opened a store in Springfield, Missouri, in 2023 and is building its first location in the Kansas City area at 601 Village West Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas. It is exploring other locations across the state and, in the process, started looking to clear the way by going after businesses that were potentially infringing on its marks.
