Chicago City Council Committee Approves a $45 Million Settlement for Teen Paralyzed in Crash During Police Chase
The City of Chicago is one step closer to paying $45 million to the family of a young man who was left disabled after a car crash that happened during a police chase in 2021.
The settlement, which was unanimously approved by the Chicago City Council Committee on Finance on Monday, will be the largest in the city’s history.
The committee approved the record settlement for the family of Nathen Jones, the now 18-year-old who suffered a catastrophic brain injury in April 2021 after a police chase ended in a crash.
