City of Columbus, Ohio to Pay $1M Settlement Over Police Custody Error
The city of Columbus has agreed to a $1 million settlement with Lonnie Henry after two police officers mistakenly handed his son over to the boy’s mother, who did not have custody.
The mother, Shadasia Gillyard, allegedly abused the boy physically and mentally for several months.
The incident occurred in 2023 when the boy was 7 years old.
