Conservative Groups Urge EEOC to Probe ABA Diversity Initiatives

A coalition of conservative legal groups on Monday asked the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to investigate several of the American Bar Association’s diversity hiring programs, claiming they discriminate by giving priority to minority applicants and other underrepresented groups.
The EEOC complaint, which follows similar allegations against the ABA made by one of the groups last year, is the first direct legal challenge to the organization since Donald Trump returned to the White House and initiated a national push to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the government, the private sector and beyond.
