Elon Musk Wants to Purchase Twitter For $43 Billion
Elon Musk is offering to buy Twitter for $43 billion just days after news broke that the Tesla and SpaceX CEO would not join the social media giant’s board of directors.
Musk, in a letter to Twitter Chairman Bret Taylor disclosed in an SEC filing on Wednesday, said he would purchase the company in its entirety for $54.20 a share, which, according to CNBC, gives Twitter a value of $43 billion.
That offer is a 54 percent premium above the price for Twitter shares on the day before he starting investing in the company, and a 8 percent premium above it the day before his investment was publicly announced.
