Fifth-Third Bancorp and Comerica Complete Merger, Creating 9th Largest Bank in the U.S.

Fifth Third Bancorp, headquartered in Cincinnati, has completed its merger with Comerica, officially making the ninth largest bank in the country.

Monday’s completed merger comes after the move was approved by shareholders from both companies last month.

“We are thrilled to announce we have closed our merger with Comerica,” said Tim Spence, chairman, CEO and president of Fifth Third in a release announcing the completed merger.
