Former Emporia State Professor Wins Over $5M in Religious Discrimination Lawsuit

A Lyon County jury concluded Thursday that Emporia State did impede the ability of one of its professors to exercise his religion.

Emporia State University, Dean of the Teachers College Joan Brewer, and former IDT Department Head Jim Persinger were named in a lawsuit by Dusti Howell, who claimed they violated his Title VII rights during his tenure with the institution.
