Louis Vuitton Ordered To Pay Nearly $1 Million in Compensation After Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

The copyright dispute concerns a graphic lock that features on Louis Vuitton’s Twist handbag, wallet and other accessories that independent designer Jocelyne Imbert created. LVMH did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Vogue Business.

Louis Vuitton Malletier will have to pay Imbert €900,000 ($992,709) in compensation, according to an 11 March judgment of the court of appeal, seen by the newspaper and Vogue Business. The judges had previously rejected Imbert’s case in the first court in 2020 in a drawn out case.
