Four Men Face Life Sentences After Being Convicted in a Murder-For-Hire Scheme

Four men face life sentences after being convicted in a murder-for-hire scheme that resulted in the death of a federal witness in 2012.

Louis Age Jr., 73; his son Louis Age III, 51; Ronald Wilson, 47, and Stanton Guillory, 27 — all of New Orleans — were convicted by a federal jury. Charges included murder for hire, witness tampering and conspiracy to retaliate against a witness.

“These crimes were committed both to retaliate against and prevent Mr. Womack from testifying in a federal health care fraud trial and from cooperating with law enforcement about the health care fraud as well as other crimes, including the use of fire to commit mail fraud,” New Orleans-based U.S. Attorney Duane Evans said in a news release following Wednesday’s verdicts.
