Hormel Foods Union Workers File Lawsuit Alleging Violation of Paid Leave Requirements

UFCW Local 663 Union Workers at Hormel Foods announced Wednesday that they have filed a class action lawsuit alleging that Hormel violated earned sick and safe time laws.

The lawsuit alleges that Hormel failed and refused to provide Local 663 members with paid leave benefits required by the Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time law.

The Earned Sick and Safe Time Law provides employees with paid time off for various reasons including illness or injury. It’s one hour for every 30 hours worked up to 48 hours a year.
