Consumers Sue Samsung Over Defect that Causes Laptops to Excessively Overheat

Samsung laptops marketed by the company as having “superior computing power and speed” have a defect that causes them to “excessively overheat when performing basic laptop functions,” a new class action lawsuit alleges.

Plaintiff Haley Williams claims Samsung is aware about the alleged overheating defect that she argues affects its Samsung Galaxy Book, Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptops.

Williams argues Samsung, however, fails to disclose its knowledge of the defect or try to do anything to remedy it, leaving consumers “exposed to danger” and deprived of being able to use the devices.
