Jury Awards $13.5 Million to the Family of Man Killed by a D.C. Fire Truck

On Thursday, a D.C. jury handed down a verdict in the wrongful death case involving 31-year-old De’Angelo Green, who was killed in March of 2018 after a District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (DC FEMS) fire truck hit Green’s car at the intersection of 12th and Rhode Island Northeast while responding to a call.

If there’s no appeal, Green’s family will receive $13.5 million.

“I have my moments. I cry. I have my moments. I’m angry. I have my moments. I smile. It’s never going away,” Green’s widow, D’Anita Coles-Green told 7News.
