KKR Reportedly in Advanced Talks to Acquire Simon & Schuster for $1.65 Billion

KKR & Co Inc is in advanced talks to acquire book publisher Simon & Schuster from Paramount Global for $1.65 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.

KKR was competing against bidders including News Corp -owned HarperCollins Publishers for Simon & Schuster and investor Richard Hurowitz, the sources said.

If the talks conclude successfully, a deal could be announced in the coming days, the sources said, requesting anonymity as these discussions are confidential.
