Las Vegas’ Venetian Resort to Pay $850K in Religious Discrimination Lawsuit

The Venetian Resort, found in violation of civil rights law by refusing to accommodate employees’ religious beliefs, will pay $850,000 to employees involved in a lawsuit.

It’s part of a settlement over a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) before the sale of the Venetian in 2022.

In a news release, the EEOC said the resort was refusing to accommodate the religious beliefs of some employees and alleged that the “Venetian retaliated against employees who opposed these acts of religious discrimination… In some cases, the denial of accommodations led to discipline, denial of promotion opportunities, and discharges or constructive discharge.”
