Lawrence County, PA Could Receive $6.8 Million in an Opioid Settlement

Lawrence County Commissioners said they know the cost of the ongoing opioid epidemic in the county, from lives lost to the amount of money spent in local government. 

To help benefit residents, all three commissioners on Tuesday agreed to sign off on a potential opioid settlement with Johnson & Johnson.

Commissioner Loretta Spielvogel said a potential nationwide settlement is in the works, as different state attorney generals, including Pennsylvania’s Josh Shapiro, are in negotiations right now on the settlement.
