Longfellow Bridge Repair Workers Will Receive a Record-Breaking $26.6 Million Settlement

An eight-figure settlement was awarded to a union mason steward seriously injured during rehabilitation work on the Longfellow Bridge.

A Middlesex County jury found the J.F. White Contracting Company, with its joint venture partners, Skanska and Consigli Construction, negligent and put its employee in a situation where he now has a permanent disability. A jury found that the injured party, John Rooney, is to be awarded $26.6 million.

The verdict was delivered at the Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on Wednesday.
