Man Indicted on Hate Crime Charges in Alleged Attack on an Israeli Tourist in Times Square

A man was indicted on multiple hate crime charges in connection with the punching of an Israeli tourist in Times Square in October after the attacker made antisemitic remarks, including, “Hamas should kill more of you,” prosecutors in New York City announced Tuesday.

Yehia Amin, 28, is charged in the New York State Supreme Court indictment with two counts each of first-degree stalking as a hate crime, third-degree assault as a hate crime and third-degree stalking as a hate crime, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement. He is also charged with one count of second-degree aggravated harassment, prosecutors said.

Supreme Court is the name of New York’s top trial court.
