Man Pleads Guilty to Infant’s Death After Abortion Attempt

NEWARK – A Newark man faces a maximum of four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges in connection to an attempted abortion and infant death on Tuesday morning.

Braden C. Mull, 26, of Newark, pleaded guilty to one count each child endangering, a third-degree felony; and abuse of a corpse, a fifth-degree felony, in Licking County Common Pleas Court.

According to Assistant Licking County Prosecutor Jenny Gonzalez-Wells, charges of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence were dismissed as part of a plea deal in exchange for Mull’s guilty pleas to the remaining charges and his testimony against co-defendant Kalina Gillum, whose trial is set to begin next week.
