Maryland Reaches $2.25B Settlement With Cargo Ship Owners Over the 2024 Collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore

Maryland has reached a $2.25 billion settlement with the owners and operators of the cargo ship MV Dali over the 2024 collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. The disaster killed six construction workers and temporarily shut down a critical shipping route for the Port of Baltimore.

Attorney General Anthony Brown announced the settlement Tuesday, ahead of a trial scheduled for next month.
