‘Mayor’ of Kansas City Homeless Camp Sentenced to 10+ Years for Drug and Gun Charges

A Kansas City man known as the “mayor” of a homeless encampment has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for dealing methamphetamine and illegally carrying a gun near a public school.

Ricky Lee Myers, 63, was sentenced Thursday to a little more than a decade behind bars followed by six years of supervised release.
