More Than 20 Men Alledge Sexual Abuse by Oregon Youth Authority Doctor in Early 2000s

Ten men who were incarcerated at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in the early 2000s filed a $51 million lawsuit May 6 against the state and several former Oregon Youth Authority directors and facility superintendents, alleging they were sexually abused by a longtime doctor at the Woodburn facility.

The lawsuit, filed in Multnomah County, marks the third one filed in 2025 alleging abuse by Edward Gary Edwards, who died in February, according to lawyers.
