Nebraska Legislature Prepares a $4.45 Million Payout for Man Injured in Police Chase
The Nebraska Legislature is preparing a multi-million dollar payout for a Kearney man after he was profoundly injured in a Grand Island pursuit.
A $4.45 million amount has been added in an amendment to LB1188. The bill, passed out of the Business and Labor Committee, handles settlement payouts for the State of Nebraska. The multi-million dollar settlement will go to Miles and Christy Margritz and their attorneys.
Miles Margritz, of Kearney, filed a lawsuit against the State of Nebraska in 2020 after he was hit by a suspect fleeing the Nebraska State Patrol on Dec. 20, 2017.
