PacifiCorp to Pay $575M to Settle Claims Related to Six Wildfires

PacifiCorp will have to pay $575 million to settle claims related to six wildfires, including five of the 2020 Labor Day fires, four of which burned in Oregon.

Ryan Flynn, the president of Pacific Power, called it a major milestone, adding the utility has now settled nearly 90% of known claims. Pacific Power is owned by PacifiCorp.

Federal prosecutors alleged the company was negligent when its power lines started six fires, four in Oregon and two in California.
