Recovery Centers of America to Pay $2 Million to Resolve False Claim and Substance Law Violations Allegations

Recovery Centers of America (RCA) has agreed to pay $2 million to settle allegations that it violated federal controlled substance laws and fabricated false claims, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced Wednesday.

The settlement includes $1 million to resolve claims that RCA violated the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and another $1 million to settle allegations under the False Claims Act. Federal officials said the company mishandled controlled substances and billed for treatment services that were not adequately provided.
