Sam’s Club to Pay $60K to Settle Disability Discrimination Lawsuit Filed by EEOC After Injured Employee was Fired

Sam’s Club will pay $60,000 to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency recently announced.

The EEOC previously said a former Sam’s Club employee at a store in Douglasville, Georgia, was involved in a car crash that left them with post-concussion syndrome, back pain, and muscle spasm issues.

“The employee sought minor, temporary adjustments to [their] duties as a reasonable accommodation for her disabilities,” the lawsuit said.
